What happens next

  1. You reach out

Call, text or email with a line about your business.

  2. We reply

Usually within one business day, on the channel you chose.

  3. You talk to a senior strategist

A focused conversation about your goals, market and numbers.

Three ways to reach us

  • Call (604) 632-4959. Best if you want to talk the idea through now. Missed us? A voicemail with your name, your idea in a sentence and a callback window is plenty.
  • Text (604) 632-4959. Best if you are juggling a job while planning your company. A few lines are enough to start.
  • Email Ali@Sedighi.ca. Best if you already have notes, a draft plan or a property listing you want us to look at.

We only use the details you send to reply to you about your enquiry.

What to include in your first message

You don't need a business plan. You do need enough for the first conversation to be useful. Here is a template you can copy and fill in:

Hi Ali, I'm planning to start [type of business] in [part of Burnaby, e.g. Metrotown or the Heights]. My customers will mainly be [who]. I'm hoping to open around [month]. So far I have [done / not done: name, registration, location, website]. My biggest question right now is [question]. My business name, if I have one, is [Business name].

The most useful details, in order of importance:

  1. What you are opening and who buys it. One or two sentences is fine.
  2. Where. A neighbourhood, a specific address you are considering, or "home-based". See our areas page for how location changes a launch.
  3. When. Your target opening date, and whether it is fixed or flexible.
  4. What is already done. Name, registration, licence, lease, website, social accounts.
  5. Budget range. Roughly what you can put behind setup and the first three months of marketing.

What happens next

  1. We reply. Usually within one business day, by the channel you used, to arrange a time for the free 30-minute consultation.
  2. We talk. We ask about the idea, the location and the numbers, and tell you honestly which stage to start with, or whether you need us at all.
  3. You get a written proposal, if it makes sense. It sets out scope, timeline, price and terms. Nothing starts until you agree to it in writing.

If the right next step is a lawyer, an accountant or the City's licensing office rather than us, we'll tell you so on the call.

Before you contact us, a few useful reads

If you want to arrive prepared, these pages answer common early questions:

If you are not ready to talk yet

That is fine. Read the guides first, write down your idea, your intended area and your opening window, and get in touch when you have those three things. A rough plan makes a free half-hour far more useful than a perfect one would.

A note on who you are contacting

Burnaby.Company is a launch consultancy run from the Vancouver head office of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group. We advise on launch strategy and marketing. We are not a registry agent, law firm or accounting firm, and we can't register your company or apply for a licence on your behalf.

That means the most useful questions to bring us are about customers, pricing, location logic, sequencing and marketing. Questions about structure, contracts or tax are better taken to your lawyer and accountant, and we'll happily help you prepare for those meetings.

Frequently asked questions

Is the first conversation free?

Yes. The first 30-minute consultation is free and carries no obligation. You'll leave with a view on which stage of your launch to tackle first.

Do I need a business plan before I contact you?

No. Two sentences about your idea, where in Burnaby you plan to open and roughly when are enough. Many founders contact us precisely because they don't have a plan yet.

Can I text instead of calling?

Yes. Texting is often easier for founders who are still working another job. Send a short message and we'll reply by text or arrange a call at a time that suits you.

Will you keep my idea confidential?

We treat what you tell us about your idea as private and use it only to advise you. If you need a formal confidentiality agreement before sharing details, ask, and have your lawyer review it.
